Bronchoalveolar Lavage (BAL)/Bronchial Micro Sampling (BMS)
Using the methods of broncho alveolar lavage (BAL) and broncho microsampling (BMS), we have been conducting clinical trials for PD evaluations of antibiotics.
We also have experience in measuring the macrophage levels in alveolar liquid using flowcytometry as well as the PK evaluations of samples.
BMS is the method of measuring the antibiotic concentration in the epithelial lining fluid (ELF) in the lungs. This procedure is known to be a less invasive method, and also enables the serial collection of ELF, which in turn allows for the measurement of time-dependent drug concentration.
